What Should a Business Video Quote Include?

Compare filming time, edited videos, changes and usage before choosing a videographer. A practical checklist for a clear business video quote in Dublin.

A business video quote should state what will be planned, how long filming will take and which finished videos you will receive. It should also confirm delivery dates, included changes and where you can use the work.

Compare those details before comparing the total. Two proposals can both say “one filming day” while including very different amounts of editing or finished content.

Start with the NextVision filming, editing and monthly content prices. This checklist helps you compare what each price covers.

Ask for a list of the finished videos

“Video production” is too broad to tell you what will be delivered. Ask for the number of films, their approximate lengths and the versions needed for each channel.

A website introduction, an Instagram Reel and a short advert can use related footage, but each may need a different opening, edit and screen shape. Check whether subtitles and extra versions are included.

If you need help choosing the outputs, compare our Content Day and Business Video options.

Confirm the filming time and preparation

Check the locations, hours and people required. Ask who prepares the questions or script, and whether travel, studio hire or additional crew are included where needed.

A prepared location saves time on the day. Share access arrangements, background noise, customer activity and the availability of anyone speaking. If those details change after quoting, ask whether the scope needs to change too.

Agree how feedback and delivery will work

Ask when you will see the first edit, how feedback is collected and how many revision rounds are included. The final delivery date should allow time for your team to review the work.

It also helps to agree what counts as a change. Correcting an agreed title is different from changing the message, adding new videos or requesting another shoot. Put the approval process in writing so both sides know what has been booked.

Check music, usage and handover

Tell the producer whether the film will be used on your website, social pages, paid ads or at an event. Ask whether music and any supplied stock material cover that use.

Confirm how the finished files will be delivered and whether raw footage or editable project files are included. Those are different from the final edited videos. If photography is part of the brief, agree image quantities and photography usage rights as well.

Compare relevant work, not just a showreel

Watch a complete example that has a similar job to your own project. Listen to the speech, look at how the service is explained and follow the viewer’s next step.

Our VentSolve case study shows public business and social content within a wider partnership. The Gut Fest project has an event brief with a longer film and shorter edits. Neither project is a price template for a different client.

Send each supplier the same brief

You can use this short checklist when requesting proposals:

  1. The service, product or event being filmed.
  2. The audience and what the viewer should do afterwards.
  3. Where the finished videos will appear.
  4. Filming location, people involved and available dates.
  5. The videos and versions you think you need.
  6. Your publishing deadline and any budget range you are comfortable sharing.

If one proposal excludes something, ask for the price of adding it before deciding. A lower total is only comparable when the work matches.

How NextVision quotes your project

We agree the ideas, filming, editing and delivery in one proposal. Your scope confirms the video count, formats, dates and included changes. Publishing, advertising and account management are added only when agreed.

Use the Business Video Production page to watch original work and see the options. The enquiry form on that page already identifies the service as Business Video Production.
