Watch the finished work
For the Saxoo London collection work, the creative focus was elegance with a sense of mystery. The clothes needed to remain visible and desirable, while the films gave the viewer a reason to look more closely. A new collection has details to introduce, but a fashion film also needs an attitude. The brief was about finding a relationship between the person, the garment and the feeling around them.
The project included filming with Hungarian public figure András Szabó, known as Csuti. The archive contains collection films and shorter versions featuring him, alongside other menswear material. The selected videos on this page show those two scales of work: a fuller collection piece and concise individual edits. The accompanying images are frames from the finished films, clearly presented as part of the video project.
A Hungarian menswear brand with a wider audience
Saxoo London’s own history dates the brand to 1997 and describes its growth among Hungarian and European customers. Its range combines casual and more formal menswear. That background gave the production an established brand to work within. The project needed to introduce a collection while preserving the character people associated with the label.
Working for an established clothing brand was an opportunity I valued. The brief had a particular tone: elegance, restraint and a suggestion of mystery around the new collection. Those priorities were more useful than a broad request to make the clothes look premium. They gave the work a direction that could influence the framing, movement and rhythm of the finished pieces.
Letting the collection lead the creative choices
A clothing film has several possible subjects: the garment itself, the person wearing it, the setting or the wider brand image. For this project, those subjects needed to work together. The person gives the clothes scale and movement. Details give the collection something concrete to show. The setting and pace establish the tone around them.
The selected material includes jackets, shirts and other menswear seen in use, with closer attention to fabric, hands and adjustments. These moments help a viewer understand how a garment sits on a person. They also create natural actions within the film. My short-form video production service begins with the same question for any product: what should the viewer understand from seeing it move?
Elegance through controlled attention
Elegance is difficult to communicate if every image asks for attention at once. A clear composition can let a garment, gesture or expression become the subject. The viewer has time to notice the shape of a jacket or the relationship between a shirt and its surroundings. That kind of attention suits a collection brief built around a considered appearance.
The films use a mixture of closer detail and views of the person wearing the clothes. Moving between those scales gives the collection room to be seen. It also helps the person remain part of the story rather than becoming a stand for individual products. The creative aim is a coherent impression of the clothes in use, with enough detail to make that impression specific.
Creating mystery without hiding the product
Mystery in a collection film can come from how much is revealed at a particular moment. A view from behind, a partial reflection or a close detail can introduce a person before a fuller view appears. Those choices can build curiosity, provided the film eventually gives the viewer the information it promises.
The selected Csuti material includes indirect and more direct views, while the collection work moves between the wearer and clothing details. The garment still needs to remain understandable. If the imagery becomes too obscure, the viewer may remember a mood without learning anything about the collection. The short-form versus long-form guide explains how the space available in an edit affects that balance between introduction and detail.
Filming with András Szabó, known as Csuti
Working with a recognisable public figure adds another point of attention to a fashion film. The audience may arrive with an existing impression of the person. The production needs to connect that presence to the clothes and the collection rather than allowing either to become incidental. In this project, Csuti’s participation was part of the creative material I filmed.
The archive includes a finished Csuti collection version and shorter individual edits. The public examples show him within the same visual world as the clothing. The emphasis remains the collection’s elegant character and the person wearing it. Across the longer and shorter versions, the same person can be introduced through posture, clothing details and a more direct view. That gives the editor several ways to reveal the collection while maintaining a consistent mood.
Finding actions that make clothing visible
Clothes change when a person moves. A sleeve, collar, jacket opening or trouser line can communicate more in a small action than in a long explanation. Adjusting a garment or moving through the setting gives the camera something to follow. The action should make the clothing more legible, rather than becoming a performance that draws the eye away from it.
A hand at a collar or a jacket opening can make the garment’s structure visible. These details are particularly valuable when a short film needs to suggest the collection’s character without pausing for a full product explanation.
The selected collection material contains those small gestures: hands at clothing, changes in posture and movement through an interior. They provide practical detail within the wider mood. That relationship between a product and the way it is used also appears in my product content work for the Macaron Boutique, although the pace and subject there are very different.
Connecting separate edits through one visual world
A collection can need several pieces of content rather than one film. The challenge is giving each piece a reason to exist while keeping a recognisable relationship between them. A longer version may introduce the collection’s mood; a shorter piece may concentrate on one person, garment or moment. The images, colour and pacing can help them feel related.
The Saxoo archive contains multiple finished versions and shorter pieces. The examples on this page are a selection from that work, not a claim that every archived variation served an identical purpose. For a new project, the business video planning guide helps define the audience and use of each edit. The video quote checklist makes those deliverables easier to compare before a production is agreed.
How still images relate to the films
A frame extracted from a fashion video can help explain the film’s look in a portfolio. It shows a moment from the moving sequence. Dedicated fashion photographs have a different job and need their own brief, especially when the images must show exact product detail or be used in a consistent collection gallery.
The images accompanying the selected Saxoo films on this page come from the video material. For a future commission needing both, I would agree the photography subjects, image count and intended uses alongside the video outputs. My commercial photography service and photography planning guide describe that process. Clear scope leaves room to create each format with the attention it requires.
A collection brief differs from a product listing
A product listing helps a customer inspect a specific item. A collection film can introduce a broader feeling and relationship between several items. Both can be useful, but they answer different questions. The Saxoo work was led by elegance, mystery and the presentation of a new collection. That made mood an essential part of the task.
A business planning fashion content should decide whether it needs product information, brand imagery or a mix. A useful proposal can then list the separate outputs instead of expecting one piece to solve every need. The content day versus business film guide explores a similar scope decision, and monthly social content production may suit a brand that introduces new material regularly.
What the project demonstrates
The finished work shows my approach to a clothing collection with a defined visual tone and a recognisable participant. The films use people, garments and setting together, with detail supporting the wider impression. The selected pieces let a prospective client assess how that tone carries across a fuller collection film and shorter versions.
This is a creative production case study. The material on this page demonstrates the work and the brief it served. Sales, product demand or audience response would require separate evidence from the brand. The point I can show directly is the visual relationship between elegance, controlled revelation and the collection itself. For another example of a business’s own character shaping the work, see Buga Ramen in Alicante.
Planning a fashion or collection production
A useful first brief names the collection, the intended customer, the mood, the products to feature and the channels where the content will appear. Add any people participating, the location and the required finished versions. If still photographs are needed, list them too. Those decisions influence how much time and preparation the production needs.
For scope, compare the product video cost guide with the Dublin videographer price guide. International work is planned around its own location and requirements. You can read about my background and send a collection brief to discuss the photographs, short-form videos or larger business film that would best serve the launch.
The result
A collection introduced through people and detail
The selected films present the collection through garments, people and a consistent visual tone. They show the relationship between elegance, mystery and the attention given to clothing details.
